XL Hospice Announces Company Name Change to Signature Hospice

Signature Hospice LogoXL Hospice announced today that it will begin using Signature Hospice as its corporate name. In 2014, XL Hospice was purchased by Signature Hospice, a privately owned regional leader of hospice care for seniors throughout Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. Through this purchase, XL Hospice aligned with Signature Hospice, Home Health and Home Care–a larger organization focused on quality care, service line development, and technological health care advancements.

“Over the past year, XL Hospice has enjoyed a smooth onboarding and transition into a larger, regional post-acute provider,” says Bob Thomas, President of Signature Hospice, Home Health and Home Care. “Our shared mission to enhance the life of every person we serve further confirmed that the acquisition of XL Hospice was the right move for the communities in which we provide care. We are very excited for the final step in this process, which is to fully integrate XL Hospice into the Signature brand.”

The purchase of XL Hospice by Signature Hospice was a direct response to the increasing demand of the nation’s aging population to receive end-of-life care and post-acute services in the comfort of a private residence. The improved market reach and combined expertise and resources of the two health care companies have increased their abilities to provide improved care while reducing unnecessary emergency room visits and hospital re-admissions.

Terri Roberts, Administrator, has witnessed positive changes stemming from the merging of the two healthcare providers. “Signature has a proven track record of putting the patient at the center of the decisions they make. We have aligned our services with Signature’s mission as we continue to work toward reducing hospital re-admissions, focus on patient comfort and care, and increase patient satisfaction.”

The acquisition added 66 hospice employees to Signature Hospice, Home Health and Home Care’s approximately 1,050 staff associates and hundreds of volunteers.
