Comments / Questions: My mother is currently at Friendship Health Center for physical therapy after her stroke a month ago. When released in about a week, she will need daycare for her personal needs (dressing, feeding, etc.). She is being trained to use the pole for pivoting from chair to bed and vice versa. Looking for someone who can come in from 7:00 am to 5 pm to care for her. At home is also my father (who is 93) but he takes care of himself.

Comments / Questions: I am interested in finding out about in-home care for my 87 yr old mother. She needs help bathing, but mostly needs company and some light housekeeping and meal help. She has difficulty walking and has multiple health issues. She lives in an apartment, in Edmonds, WA with my 70 yr. old step-dad. He doesn't require help, only respite from caring for my mom. I am wondering the costs for this type of help (per hour) and payment would come from family members. (not Medicare) I am thinking 3-4 mornings per week, about 3 hrs at a time. Comments / Questions: My Father and his wife live in Waldport Oregon. He is in, what we understand to be, pretty advanced stages of Altzheimers. His Wife, Sandy, is taking care of him on her own. They haven't had any luck with county respite care in their area and I was wondering what it would cost them to have someone come in and sit with my dad so she could run a few errands or attend an altzheimer support group.
